Changes to the Document Delivery Service

Changes to the Document Delivery Service

Coming early February 2026, the Library is changing our Document Delivery platform.

The new platform will provide a more streamlined, transparent service for our users. All requests will be placed, viewed, and accessed using findit@flinders. This means you will no longer need to login to a separate portal to track your requests – all requests, for both Flinders and Document Delivery materials, will be managed from My Library Card in findit@flinders with clear status updates.

How to place a request

Watch the video below to see how easy it is to search for your resources and place requests using the new platform.

Request history

The Library must keep records of requests from our current system dating back 7 years. To access your request history after we have transitioned to the new platform, please contact Document Delivery via dds@flinders.edu.au

Frequently asked questions

Will there be a disruption to service?

No – we will maintain access to our current system (Relais) and will be accepting user requests in this system until we go-live in February, at which point all requesting will be made using the process in the video above.

Will there be any changes to the types of materials I can order?

There is no change to the types of materials that can be requested in the new system.

What if I can’t find my resource in findit@flinders?

There will be a blank form option for items which are unable to be found in a findit@flinders search. The form will be streamlined, with unnecessary fields removed.

How will I receive my documents?

When the article is available, you will receive an email with a download link. You can also access your requests in My Library Card in findit@flinders and download from here. Articles can be downloaded a total of 5 times and will be unavailable after 30 days.

Will there be any changes to SendIt?

No, the Library is still committed to making resources accessible for students who are eligible for the SendIt Service.
