Accreditation & course design
The Library supports the educational quality practices at Flinders University by providing key information and advice pm a range of curriculum design, development and review activities.
Course and topic approval
Introducing or changing a program of study often has implications for resourcing provided by the Library. This may take the form of purchasing educational materials or new subscriptions, or developing support for students to learn the necessary digital and information literacy skills to succeed.
In developing a proposal that may require Library resourcing, please contact the Library for advice early in the process to ensure potential costs are adequately identified and considered.
Curriculum design
The Library is an important stakeholder when designing curricula in two key ways. We can:
1.Support the identification of teaching resources that support your learning outcomes and proposed teaching methods.
2.Help identify digital and information literacy skills that may be hidden in your curricula or seen as desirable by potential employers and suggest resources, strategies and assessments (both formative and summative) to support their active development.
These activities support many of the principles and guidelines outlined in the Good practice guides and tip sheets.
Contact the Library early in your design process for support, or invite us to participate in your curriculum design accelerator workshops.
Accreditation and review
Many accreditation processes require information about Library resources, facilities, and support services.
The Library can bring together the necessary information, including analytics.
We can also conduct visits with relevant stakeholders, if required.
