Noel Stockdale Room booking

Spaces & facilities Bookings Noel Stockdale Room booking

The Noel Stockdale Room is the principal seminar and presentation space of Flinders University Library and is located on level 1 of Central Library (see floorplan). It is available to be booked on weekdays for meetings or events by Flinders staff or students, or for University-sponsored events. The room is named in honour of Noel Stockdale, the Foundation Librarian who served from 1963 (before the University opened) until his retirement in 1987.

  • phone (with direct dial to Security and Information & Digital Services)
  • desktop PC (only available for users with a Flinders login)
  • laptop connectivity
  • lectern with microphone + portable and lapel microphones

Booking conditions

  • Booking can be made for the current calendar year with a minimum 12 hours notice
  • Bookings can be requested on weekdays excluding public holidays and university closure periods
  • There is no fee for booking during public access hours. Use outside of these hours may incur Security costs
  • Use of the booking form does not guarantee booking, an email confirmation will be sent and library staff may negotiate alternative booking times to align with library operational requirements
  • Alcohol is only permitted for staff events where a permit to provide alcohol has been obtained
  • The Library is not able to offer supplies or technical support for use of the equipment and extra equipment is not available. Technical support is available from Information and Digital Services via phone during business hours. Staff can also book audio visual assistance for live events in advance
  • Any additional equipment brought into the NSR must be removed at the conclusion of the event. All electrical equipment must be tested and tagged prior to use
  • The key to the room is to be collected and returned to the Central library information desk (see location on floorplan) during library staff assistance hours
  • Use of the kitchenette is available upon request
  • All visitors adhere to the Library Code of Conduct
  • Before vacating the room, please restore chairs to the standard room layout
