Scottish Documents Collection

This collection consists of 28 legal manuscripts, mostly written on vellum and parchment.

They relate to the Scottish families Maclean, Craufuird and Kennedy and range in date from 1536 to 1857. The documents include a marriage annulment, a marriage contract, and documents relating to loans and land holdings.

The collection was donated to the Library in 1997 by Mrs. J. E. Thomas of McLaren Flat, South Australia. A file containing some background information on the documents is available from the Special Collections Librarian.
