Murray McCaskill (1926-1999) was the Foundation Professor of Geography for the new Flinders University from 1965 until 1991. He also held the position of Pro-Vice-Chancellor from 1984 until 1989.
Murray McCaskill was hugely influential in the field of geography and geographical studies in South Australia. In addition to his academic work he edited a number of signifiant geographical publications and advised on the geography syllabus for the State's high schools.
The collection was donated to Special Collections in 2008 by Cecile Cutler. It includes pamphlets, publications, maps, surveys and correspondence.
